On Honduras

The situation that has occurred in Honduras has been well documented by the domestic and foreign press. There is not much that I would add that has not already been said about the sheennigans that is going on down south in Honduras.

The events that occurred in the early Sunday morning of late June in the name of democracy were a farce. It does not matter if you do or do not support the views and objectives of President Zeleya … the Supreme Court of Honduras and Congress acted in an unconstituionalmanner when it ousted Zeleya.

Whether the referendum that Zeleya had proposed was legal or not, is not the question anymore since it was never voted on and thus there is no justification as to why Honduras would need to remove their leader.

Barack the Magic Negro

Whoever imagined that racism would expire once Barack Obama was elected as the first African-American President of the United States was dead wrong.

Race issues will continue to exist as long as there are people with different hues of color and ignorance is prevalent in that society. Imagine how I would have reacted once I found out about a candidate for the Republican National Committee chairmanship’s justification for a blatant racist act.

What if Michelle Obama was White?

Would it matter to you? If you supported or voted for Barack Obama, would Michelle Obama’s race play a factor in your decision to support or vote for him?

Seems like a trivial question, right? But … not really since this is a topic of discussion amongst African-Americans and it seems from reactions that I find on the blogosphere- It Does Matter!

Now let’s be clear. Michelle Obama’s race would not play a factor if you are any other race but African-American. Although, I have not seen any blogs out there that entertain this question but more importantly would provide a sample large enough from Caucasians thus, I can not rule out that they would be opposed.

So, we shall discuss what we do know. And … we know that African-Americans would not support/vote for Barack Obama if Michelle Obama were Caucasian … at least preliminarily.
