Sarah Palin vs. Mike Huckabee for 2012

A CNN poll of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents found that Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin are leading for the 2012 GOP Presidential nomination. This should come as no surprise as conservatives felt that Mike Huckabee was their best choice but John McCain managed to squeak by.

Sarah Palin was then introduced to the national  scene and everything changed. She was credited with rallying the base and everything else was history.

John Burke adds, "Huckabee burst into the big time by winning the Iowa caucuses and then gave John McCain a tough time in a bunch of southern states. Meanwhile, Palin fever seems not to have cooled for a lot of more conservative voters, although Huckabee still beats her by nine points among evangelical Christians."  Read More »

The Self-Destruction of the Republican Party

It had not even been one day and the Republican Party is amidst a self-destruction path. The bloodbath will begin, heads will roll and scapegoats will receive no mercy from a devastated and upset party.

Who is to blame? The GOP is like an out of control mob ready to pick up the first victim and crucify them to warn others of what they are capable.
Is President Bush at fault or perhaps Senator John McCain … it is easier to scapegoat a “Wassila Hillbilly” like Sarah Palin as long as at the end of the day someone’s blood spills.  Read More »

Sarah "Diva" Palin Goes Rogue

As the Ship Begins to Sink

With a week left before the General Election, it seems that the McCain/Palin camp is self-destructing as we speak. A McCain advisor has stepped forward criticizing Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin for her recent off the cuff actions.

CNN reports:

McCain sources say Palin has gone off-message several times, and they privately wonder whether the incidents were deliberate. They cited an instance in which she labeled robocalls -- recorded messages often used to attack a candidate's opponent -- "irritating" even as the campaign defended their use. Also, they pointed to her telling reporters she disagreed with the campaign's decision to pull out of Michigan.

A second McCain source says she appears to be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign.  Read More »

On the Assassination of Barack Obama

One thing I have had to entertain only because I have to and need to prepare myself mentally and emotionally for the attempt and/or assassination of Barack Obama. It is not that I wish to see Obama perish but the McCain/Palin camp has festered an environment where this is acceptable.

Think about it for a second. Sarah Palin claimed that Obama is guilty of “palling around with terrorists.”

What are the implications of this statement? To an uninformed, passionate, patriotic American this seems like a rallying call. He is being told about a holy mission that he must embark on.

No, not all folks will make the connection but all it takes is for one "crazy" to snap. Imagine what they must be feeling or thinking.  Read More »

Palin is Delusional

After Troopergate blew up last week, I understood the statement-released hours later by the McCain/Palin camp. The spin was obvious but I did not expect the epic delusional steps that Sarah Palin has taken to spin the issue at hand.

Palin told reporters on Saturday that she was "very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing, any hint of any kind of unethical activity there."

Say what? … This was her first attempt to make it seem like the finding had exonerated her of any wrongdoing. This was of course the opposite.

The Anchorage Daily News called Sarah Palin’s response as "an embarrassment to Alaskans and the nation."

The newspaper adds, "Her response is either astoundingly ignorant or downright Orwellian.... Palin's response is the kind of political 'big lie' that George Orwell warned against. War is peace. Black is white. Up is down.”  Read More »

Sarah Palin on American Exceptionalism

Sarah Palin states, “"But even more important is that world view that I share with John McCain. That world view that says that America is a nation of exceptionalism. And we are to be that shining city on a hill, as President Reagan so beautifully said, that we are a beacon of hope and that we are unapologetic here. We are not perfect as a nation. But together, we represent a perfect ideal. And that is democracy and tolerance and freedom and equal rights."

The concept of American Exceptionalism is not new and if you are not acquainted with it, it’s okay. It is an idea that students entertain during their political science studies in college.  Read More »
