Palin's World

Palin's World by Nick Anderson

Palin is Delusional

After Troopergate blew up last week, I understood the statement-released hours later by the McCain/Palin camp. The spin was obvious but I did not expect the epic delusional steps that Sarah Palin has taken to spin the issue at hand.

Palin told reporters on Saturday that she was "very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing, any hint of any kind of unethical activity there."

Say what? … This was her first attempt to make it seem like the finding had exonerated her of any wrongdoing. This was of course the opposite.

The Anchorage Daily News called Sarah Palin’s response as "an embarrassment to Alaskans and the nation."

The newspaper adds, "Her response is either astoundingly ignorant or downright Orwellian.... Palin's response is the kind of political 'big lie' that George Orwell warned against. War is peace. Black is white. Up is down.”  Read More »

What does Sarah Palin’s Scandal Mean?

Cody Talley did a great job describing the finding in the ethics investigation against Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. But, what does this mean for the McCain/Palin ticket and the Election?

How did McCain attempt to spin his way out of this mess? Luckily for us the McCain/Palin camp has released a statement on the ‘Troopergate’ Report. Meg Stapleton issued the following statement:  Read More »

Who is the REAL Sarah Palin?

With John McCain's party's sorry and sad attempts to connect Barack Obama with antiwar terrorist Ayers, new revelations have come to light which beg the question: Who is the real Sarah Palin? The hockey mom? The pitbull with lipstick? The mother of a 17 year old pregnant daughter whose baby daddy is a self proclaimed "red neck' (euphimism for racist anyone?), a lovely hometown girl brought up with traditional values and wink to win America's hearts?

Yes to all of the above. And that's it. That's who she is. Yes rebuplicans, breathe a sigh of relief. *PHEW*.....Oh wait, what's this? She's a reformer, a damned, "abusing your political power to fire a former brother-in-law", reformer.

Maverick; a politician, who takes an independent stand apart from his or her associates -- doesn't seem like she's that much of a MAVERICK when it comes to the Republican party.  Read More »

Sarah Palin vs. Hugo Chávez

The hypocrisy of the Republican Party does not seem to surprise me anymore. Sometimes I think that Republicans are in denial and lie to themselves to believe the non-sense that they reiterate. In fact, they seemed like zombies as they chanted, “USA or Drill, Drill, Drill” during John McCain’s speech.

Then I heard something that struck a chord with me. As Palin stood on the stage she touted how she fought the oil companies. She claimed to be a maverick and had stood up to big business. She secured $1200 per person for the state of Alaska due to her initiative. "It's a one-time, special return of the vast wealth that Alaska has right now. We're returning it to the resource owners, the people of Alaska," claims Palin. Republicans praised her and labeled her a reformer for this cause.  Read More »
