Perry and Limbaugh Sitting in a Tree…

Everyday that goes by … I am more convinced that Kay Bailey Hutchinson is going to beat Governor Rick Perry in the Republican Primary. She does not even have to do anything but let Perry keep digging himself into a bigger and bigger hole as election day approaches.

On the Infamous Handshake …

Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot! Unfortunately, he is a tool with access to a microphone and audience that have a shorter memory span than goldfish. That did not stop the comedian from bashing President Barack Obama for shaking hands with President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela.

What I do not understand and why should I even attempt to rationalize this demagogue’s actions … is that President Obama reacted in a civilized form. Memo to Rush, when someone extends his or her hand as a greeting, you typically reciprocate the action especially in the context of this situation.

Rush Limbaugh Doesn’t Use Computers

Apparently, Limbaugh does not use a computer or just doesn’t know what the hell a PDF is. The fact that he uses a qualifier in order to make the false allegation on his show is indicative of the hypocrisy that he embodies.

Blame the Unions!

Conservatives are creative when it comes to spinning issues; I have to give them credit for that. In light of the newest crisis to hit America, the Auto Industry is on the brink of collapse and the right wing pundits have released the newest memo with the culprit for this mess.

It turns out that the reason why GM, Chrysler and Ford are in this crisis is because of the United Auto Workers Union. What did these folks do that sparked this mess?

They fought to maintain wages and benefits for the workers that mass-produce the vehicles that the Big 3 sells.

This latest excuse for why the Big 3 are in a dire situation is laughable at best.

I mean come on … really the reason why the Big 3 are in a bad situation is because of the workers?

It’s Barack Obama’s Fault

Whatever bad thing happens to the United States from now on is Barack Obama’s fault … according to the right-wing comedians from talk radio and FOX News.

Say what? But, Obama is not even the President; hell it has not even been a week since the Election took place.

You sir, are an astute observer but that does not mean that our President-Elect should not be blamed.

Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are not going to wait until January 20, 2009 a.k.a. Inauguration Day to blast Obama. FOX News was blaming the tanking economy on the possibility that Obama might win the election … that was like 9 months ago. Now that Barack Obama is the President-Elect it is his fault.

Sean Hannity has expressed his concern about Obama who is a “mystery” by claiming, “I fear [this] is the guy that has these radical associations 20 years ago.”

Spinning the Powell Endorsement

So, a day later after Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama, how did the right spin the endorsement? They used the race card and claimed that Powell did it because Obama is black.

Rush Limbaugh, who said, "Secretary Powell says his endorsement is not about race… OK, fine. I am now researching his past endorsements to see if I can find all the inexperienced, very liberal, white candidates he has endorsed. I’ll let you know what I come up with."

How to Make Jake Tapper Look Like a Fool

The first step is easy . . . let him create the illusion that he is attempting to be neutral and seek the truth. The second step is to put on your thinking cap (you know the one from Elementary school) and attempt to make sense of the crap. Here we go!

I appreciate Jake Tapper and his attempt to be non-partisan as a journalist but when you make mistakes as you attempt to justify false claims of an ad . . . then it gets tricky. It is astonishing to me to hear foul play on the conservative side when John McCain and Sarah Palin are allowed to distort and lie to the American people on a daily basis. Why are we not calling them out?

I am not a journalist. I am a partisan blogger. I am here to report the facts as they are distorted by the right wing. Let us examine Tapper’s claims and the fallacy in his argument.

Midwest Floods vs. N.O. Hurricane

Rush Limbaugh states, “I want to know. I look at Iowa, I look at Illinois—I want to see the murders. I want to see the looting. I want to see all the stuff that happened in New Orleans. I see devastation in Iowa and Illinois that dwarfs what happened in New Orleans. I see people working together. I see people trying to save their property…I don’t see a bunch of people running around waving guns at helicopters, I don’t see a bunch of people running shooting cops. I don’t see a bunch of people raping people on the street. I don’t see a bunch of people doing everything they can…whining and moaning—where’s FEMA, where’s BUSH. I see the heartland of America. When I look at Iowa and when I look at Illinois, I see the backbone of America.”

Upon hearing this, I understood why he said it. There is no secret that Limbaugh despised and criticized those individuals that suffered most in the Katrina aftermath. His futile attempt to showcase the differences between Blacks and Whites as a justification for his personal perspective on the flaws of one certain group.
What Limbaugh fails to notice in this juxtaposition is that the situation that is ongoing in the Midwest and what happened in New Orleans are different. One event is dealing with the preparation and prevention of a devastating catastrophe and the other dealt with the aftermath of a category 5 hurricane.

This is not an attempt to down play or ignore the ongoing devastation that folks are currently experiencing due to floods but when a bigot such as Limbaugh attempts to push his flawed logic on people, someone has to call him out. People in Iowa have joined together in order to take a proactive approach to their natural disaster. The population density of this area also does not compare to that of New Orleans. On the other hand, the events that unfolded in New Orleans occurred after Hurricane Katrina wrecked the region. People reacted the way they did only after waiting over 3 days before ever receiving any aid. Furthermore, these folks were just abandoned in a football stadium for days before getting any help. Limbaugh should be ashamed of himself for trying to up on group over the other when it comes to natural disasters. But then again, why should I be surprised at this hypocrite. When he abuses drugs, it some how becomes permissible but when any one else commits the same act . . . he calls for them to be sent to jail indefinitely.
