It did not take that long for Latino political officials to address the latest Republican stunt to disenfranchise voters of the minority community. Councilmember James Rodriguez of District I and Councilmember Edward Gonzalez of District H filed suit against Harris County. Councilmember Gonzalez stated, “The proposed map cracks communities of interests and dilutes the voting [...]

Grad Students Get the Shaft

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower

In a game of chicken, the more radical side usually wins. This was the case in our debt-ceiling fiasco that has ended and a crisis avoided. The radical right also known as the Tea Party loonies were prepared for Armageddon. Who can blame them? They hate paying for your kids going to school. They hate [...]

Turning Texas Blue in 2012

Comparing Election 2008 and 2010 in TexasIn 2008, I wrote “Examining How Texas Voted” in which Hispanics turned out in record numbers and voted for Democrats. Starr County went as high 79% in 2010 compared to 75% in 2008.

I reviewed the county breakdown of how Texas voted this mid-term election. The image on the left represents all the counties that Barack Obama won in blue during the 2008 election. The image on the right represents all the counties that Bill White won in blue during the 2010 election.

There is hope! Texas has remained blue in the South and remains pretty red in the North. If Obama and Democrats plan on pulling any upset in 2012, they better start tomorrow. Can Democrats do it?

Yes we can!

Contact Blue Dog Democrats Now!

Blue Dogs Fearsome Fiscal WatchdogsThe viability of passing Health Care Reform does not stem on those shouting at every other Town Hall Meeting “NO” or Republicans … it all depends on those conservative Democrats that fancy themselves as the Blue Dog Coalition.

This small coalition of 50+ United States Congressmen is what stands between Health Care Reform and maintaining the status quo … it is time to wage war on this minority and remind them who they work for … we the people … Americans that voted for Change in 2008 and who would like to see the Health Care Reform our President is endorsing to pass.

Remember to be polite but assertive. We will NOT support a bill that does not include a "Public Option" and "Co-Ops" are NOT acceptable.

Rush Limbaugh Doesn’t Use Computers

Apparently, Limbaugh does not use a computer or just doesn’t know what the hell a PDF is. The fact that he uses a qualifier in order to make the false allegation on his show is indicative of the hypocrisy that he embodies.
