A real good reason Not to Vote For
Carl Whitmarsh is a self described rabid Democrat! Whitmarsh was born and raised in Brenham, graduated from Bellaire High School and attended St. Thomas & Texas Tech. He has been employed at every level of Government starting with Sen Joe Christie of El Paso in 1969 and 18 yrs in US Senate. He was a National Delegate in 2000 for Al Gore in Lousianna.
With all the hullabaloo going on with City Council races, I got a note wanting me to support Carlos Obando in At Large Position 5.
Avoiding the Inevitable: Redrawing Houston
The Honorable Judge Sim Lake has dismissed a lawsuit filed by “against the City of Houston to force redistricting this year,” according to Miya Shay of the local ABC 13 television station.
A group of local activists “wanted to add two council seats this year, therefore increasing the possibility that more Latinos would be elected to City Council.”
Even though a City Charter may have backed their arguments, the City resisted … indicating that they “wanted to redistrict after the census” that is to take place next year.
