Bill Maher makes an intelligent and at times humorous argument that what makes the NFL great is that it is Socialist! I highly recommend you check out the YouTube clip. The following are some of my favorite points.

"The NFL takes money from the rich teams and gives it to the poor teams. Football is more like the Democratic philosophy. Democrats don’t want to eliminate capitalism or competition, but they’d like it if some kids didn’t have to go to a crummy school in a rotten neighborhood while others get to go to a great school and their Dad gets them into Harvard. Because when that happens "achieving the American dream" is easy for some, and just a fantasy for others.

I saw Bill Maher’s “Religulous” at the River Oaks Theatre earlier this week and I loved it. I must note though that I am an avid fan of Bill Maher and enjoy his sense of humor, so my opinions may be bias to some extent.

Nonetheless, I highly recommend you watch the film instead of some of the crap that Hollywood likes to produce for the masses.
