How to Postpone the VP Debate

palin-mccain.jpg

The more I think about the more logical and rational it seems to me why Republicans have sabotaged the bailout bill they claimed we needed to pass as soon as possible. They do not want Sarah Palin to have to debate with Joe Biden and risk shedding the illusion that she is "qualified" to be the next Vice President.

Think about it . . . it makes sense. If last week John McCain attempted to suspend his campaign and the debate because the nation was in an Economic crisis, why would they not attempt a similar approach this week with the VP debate?

It is no secret that John McCain thinks that Sarah Palin is not ready to hold her own with the press let alone a debate. She has only given 3 interviews and held 1 four question-and-answer session.

If last week the economy may have collapsed if the bailout plan was not drafted what will it do now that it not pass?  Read More »

The Change that the Maverick Claims to Bring

When John McCain and his campaign touted victory on the Sunday press circuit, no one challenged their assertions because the legislation had yet to be voted on. Today, the DOW took the biggest plunge in a single day.

The McCain campaign and House Republicans began to spin the outcome and blames Barack Obama and Democrats for not passing the bill. Barack Obama handled the matter like a statesman by reminding voters at a campaign rally in Denver to "stay calm, because things are never smooth in Congress." John McCain on the other hand accused Barack Obama and Democrats of putting “politics ahead of country."  Read More »

When Banks Overdraft . . .

wachovia_bank.jpg

One good lesson I learned during college was that I hated over drafting. Banks  rig the system in their favor to screw over their client by selecting a flawed method of applying deposits and withdrawls. Nonetheless, I became better at managing my money and set up security measures so that I would avoid over drafting.

When banks overdraft though . . . it is a different story. Last week Washington Mutual collapsed and it was called the biggest bank failure in American history. JP Morgan Chase stepped in and purchased what remained of WaMu later on in the week.

The next bank to go under is Wachovia with Wells Fargo and Citigroup hovering like vultures ready to pounce when Wachovia finally expires this week. This relieves some pressure off the Federal Government who will not have to step in and bail out yet another corporation.  Read More »

The Best Obama T-shirt!

I voted for Obama T-shirtThis has to be the best Obama t-shirt I have come across. Perhaps, it is because it is simplistic and well designed. For a second, you think you are buying an official shirt from the Barack Obama website but it is not.

The “I voted for Obama T-shirt” has a simple message, I voted. Instead of wearing a sticker on Election Day or the days after one only needs to wear the “I voted for Obama T-shirt”. What I found clever was the way the “I voted for Obama T-shirt” incorporates the Obama logo in the O of voted.  Read More »

Barack Obama wins Debate!

John McCain and Barack Obama in First Presidential Debate

Watching the debate and twittering my opinions was exciting last night. As a political junkie I enjoyed every aspect of the debate.  The big question though now is who won the debate? Barack Obama won the debate and here is why.

The first debate was on Foreign Policy. It is a given that this is John McCain’s strongest suit. Barack Obama should not have held his own if John McCain were to win.

John McCain’s goal last night was to prove to the American people that Barack Obama was not qualified nor ready to lead our nation come January.

Barack Obama’s goal on the other hand was to hold his own and not allow John McCain’s claim of “inexperience” resonate with the American people.  Read More »

Palin Stumbles in Couric Interview

Sometimes I think I am dreaming this McCain-Palin ticket and I pinch myself so that I may wake up. But, then interviews such as the Katie Couric one with Sarah Palin, make me wish I was dreaming because this is sad.

Sarah Palin has a 50/50 chance of becoming our next Vice President folks. She has a 1 in 4 chance of becoming the President and if she is “selected” in November, she is a heartbeat away from becoming the President of the United States.  Read More »

Introducing the No-Talk Express!

It has been 4 weeks since John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate. It has also been 4 weeks since the McCain camp has even allowed the media any interaction with Palin. Sure, you can give her the Charlie Gibson interview but the Sean Hannity soirée was a joke.

Today the media decided to fight back the only way they could. They denied Palin access to the media she has been denying herself from. The AP claims, “Palin sat down with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Colombian President Alvaro Uribe. The conversations were private, the pictures public, meant to build her resume for voters concerned about her lack of experience in world affairs.”  Read More »
