A real good reason Not to Vote For

Carl Whitmarsh is a self described rabid Democrat! Whitmarsh was born and raised in Brenham, graduated from Bellaire High School and attended St. Thomas & Texas Tech. He has been employed at every level of Government starting with Sen Joe Christie of El Paso in 1969 and 18 yrs in US Senate. He was a National Delegate in 2000 for Al Gore in Lousianna.

With all the hullabaloo going on with City Council races, I got a note wanting me to support Carlos Obando in At Large Position 5.  

I seemed to remember him as a fairly articulate and attractive young man who happened to be Gay and was a poster child for the Conservative and McCain, so when I inquired further, the whole thrust of the campaign was "I’m running against Jolanda Jones"…..Well, Mr. Obando, no way no how…..for starters you have that hated moniker before your name, REPUBLICAN, and these fingers don’t pull that lever, dial that X or mark that position on ANY ballot – even a non partisan one.

If you want to be a serious candidate, tell the folks what YOU will do, just don’t offer yourself as someone running against someone else.  

Most people don’t take the term Gay and Republican in the same sentence seriously….and most don’t take seriously someone who is just running against someone else, no matter who encouraged you or who may be trying to curry favor by supporting you.

I think I’ll just let this post on FACEBOOK say it all….

Guillermo Lopez Velis Would like to remind everyone to not support or add Carlos Obando, he’s a Log Cabin REPUBLICAN, he told the Washington blade that Republicans in St Paul at the RNC are nicer to him than the liberals in Houston….b*t$%^ PUH-LEEZ!

There are a lot of right minded folks who can see clearly through all the smoke and mirrors currently being thrown up in these races and in this one, it becomes clearer and clearer by the moment.
