Voting Machines Flipping Votes?

I am looking for and trying to follow any stories of voting irregularities that may be occurring this election. Early voting just began this week and machines are already up to their shenanigans that created a circus of the 2000 election.

There are machines that are flipping votes from Barack Obama to John McCain. I read about it in the Houston Chronicle and thought it was an isolated case but now I am starting to think that it may not be.

The Houston Chronicle reports that, “County Clerk Beverly Kaufman's office was informed early Monday that some of the first voters had cast straight-ticket Democratic ballots only to discover that the machines had recorded their presidential vote as Republican.”

Today, I read of a similar problem in West Virginia. This is the second West Virginia County that is reporting problems with vote flipping.

Shelba Ketchum states, “I hit Obama and it switched to McCain. I am really concerned about that. If McCain wins, there was something wrong with the machines.”

Then there is the machine in Nashville, TN that would not register an Obama vote. Then when the individual was successful in selecting Obama, it flipped their vote. Others are reporting trouble getting the machine to register any candidate selection.

Now this may be coincidence or something fishy is going on, but I am not sure. I do find it interesting that it always seems that Democrats are reporting irregularities. Nonetheless, this should serve as a warning to prospective voters to confirm and be extremely attentive to their machine’s interaction when they do decide to vote.
