On the Assassination of Barack Obama

One thing I have had to entertain only because I have to and need to prepare myself mentally and emotionally for the attempt and/or assassination of Barack Obama. It is not that I wish to see Obama perish but the McCain/Palin camp has festered an environment where this is acceptable.

Think about it for a second. Sarah Palin claimed that Obama is guilty of “palling around with terrorists.”

What are the implications of this statement? To an uninformed, passionate, patriotic American this seems like a rallying call. He is being told about a holy mission that he must embark on.

No, not all folks will make the connection but all it takes is for one "crazy" to snap. Imagine what they must be feeling or thinking.

They genuinely think that Barack Obama is a Muslim. A Muslim is a bad thing because they are Terrorists. Terrorists are the ones that attacked America on 9/11 and are the reason we are at War in Iraq.

To a “crazy” these issues conflate and produce only one possible solution … death. So, why are we surprised that individuals shout out “kill him” during the rallies now?

The beacon has been sent out. Every patriotic American has been called out to serve their country in a mission, a mission to save America from that terrorist … who in their confused, uninformed point of view is about to sell America out.

Do you now see how this does not sound like such a ludicrous scenario anymore? I may be right about many things but this one thing that I hope I am wrong about.
