Palin is Delusional

After Troopergate blew up last week, I understood the statement-released hours later by the McCain/Palin camp. The spin was obvious but I did not expect the epic delusional steps that Sarah Palin has taken to spin the issue at hand.

Palin told reporters on Saturday that she was "very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing, any hint of any kind of unethical activity there."

Say what? … This was her first attempt to make it seem like the finding had exonerated her of any wrongdoing. This was of course the opposite.

The Anchorage Daily News called Sarah Palin’s response as "an embarrassment to Alaskans and the nation."

The newspaper adds, "Her response is either astoundingly ignorant or downright Orwellian…. Palin’s response is the kind of political ‘big lie’ that George Orwell warned against. War is peace. Black is white. Up is down.”

Sarah Palin then repeated the lie yet again during an interview with a local CBS affiliate in Pittsburg. She claimed, “The report that came out also was very clear in that there was no unethical or unlawful behavior on my part. No abuse of power there at all."

Really?

Sarah Palin, the report was not a work of fiction that could be left up to the reader to entertain and interpret its findings. This is not the equivalent of reading The Great Gatsby and trying to make sense of what the author intended. There was nothing left to interpret in the finding since it was literal.

The report was clear and easy to understand. Sarah Palin “abused her power.” She “violated” the “Alaska Executive Branch of Ethics Act.” There is no wiggle room that can justify her outrageous claims.

Now, we get to speculate on Palin’s reaction to the Troopergate scandal. She is either crazy, delusional and does not know what the hell she is talking about. Or, she is conniving, dishonest, spineless human being that will say anything and do anything for power.

Either way … it does not look good for Republicans. How can they support someone that is obviously out of touch with her own scandal? Imagine any other national issues that require leadership … like Global Warming, the Iraq War or Economy.

If she does not know that there is a problem, how can she address it? She cannot even admit her own personal scandal and that speaks volumes.
