My VP Predictions
The VP choice that John McCain and Barack Obama end up inviting on their ticket will play a big role this year. It will either be a hit or miss for either candidate in aiding their prospective chances in winning the November election. The VP is usually an asset that quells any uncertainties or shortcomings that the Presidential candidate may have. Obama would need to have someone that can compete against McCain's claim of expertise on "National Security" or "Foreign Policy." McCain would need to choose someone that can help him distance himself from Bush and his administration's failed policy.
I predict McCain will end up picking Mitt Romney to join him on the ballot. Romney was the former Governor of Massachusetts. He appeals to voters with his private sector experience and has the charisma, that McCain lacks. He also appeals to social conservatives on immigration issues and independents on his health care initiatives.
Obama will most likely go with Joe Biden. Biden is a Senator from Delaware with over 30 years experience. He heads the Foreign Relations Committee and has the experience to make Romney and McCain look like fools. He has been in the Senate since 1973 so he knows all the tricks in the playbook. Expect him to stand up and defend Obama. He can also articulate and debate any candidate that McCain ends up choosing. Biden's national security expertise and foreign policy knowledge should quell any concerns from folks that are not sold on Obama.
The choices that Obama and McCain end up going with can aid or be detrimental to their campaigns. If they do not select someone that overshadows their personal flaws, their hopes would go downhill pretty quickly. The Obama-Biden ticket is stronger than the McCain-Romney ticket. Who ever Obama chooses, that individual would be able to compete against McCain. Unfortunately for McCain, there is no one that can compete against Obama's attributes.
